At Kyros.ai, we are proud to spotlight our students' incredible achievements, showcasing their journeys as examples of what dedication, passion, and strategic planning can accomplish. Today, we celebrate the success of Mihika, a determined and innovative student who is set to attend the Stern School of Business at New York University, majoring in Business Economics.
Mihika's journey is a testament to the importance of exploring diverse interests, engaging in impactful projects, and leveraging opportunities to create meaningful change. Her story provides valuable insights into the elements crucial for a successful college planning journey.
Mihika's path began with an exploration of various fields in high school. This exploration is a vital step in any student's journey, allowing them to identify their true passions and strengths. For Mihika, this exploration led her to business and technology. She recognized early on the importance of making a societal impact, a theme that would shape her high school experience and future aspirations.
One of Mihika's standout achievements was her work on Easy Care, a project developed as part of the Diamond Challenge, a renowned competition for high school entrepreneurs. Easy Care is a wearable technology aimed at revolutionizing telehealth by providing a low-cost, effective healthcare solution. The significance of this project lies not only in its technological innovation but also in its mission to address disparities in healthcare access.
Mihika and her team identified a critical gap in the private healthcare system: many people, especially in rural areas, couldn't afford or access advanced medical technology. Easy Care sought to bridge this gap by creating a wearable device that functions beyond a simple smartwatch. It incorporated features such as EKG electrodes and other health-monitoring functionalities, making healthcare more accessible and affordable.
This project exemplifies how students can use their skills and knowledge to address real-world problems. It highlights the importance of project-based learning, where students apply classroom concepts to develop solutions with tangible societal benefits.
Mihika's dedication and innovation did not go unnoticed. Her team became semifinalists in the Diamond Challenge, an achievement that underscores the value of participating in competitions and showcases the impact of their project. Such recognitions are pivotal in a college application, demonstrating a student's ability to apply their knowledge, work in a team, and create significant outcomes.
Reflecting on her journey, Mihika emphasizes the importance of creating an impact in society through one's work. This principle guided her throughout high school and will continue to do so in her future endeavors. For students embarking on their college journey, Mihika's story offers several key lessons:
- Explore Diverse Interests: Don't hesitate to explore various fields. This exploration helps in discovering your true passions and strengths, crucial for long-term success and fulfillment.
- Engage in Impactful Projects: Look for opportunities to work on projects that address real-world problems. Such projects not only enhance your learning but also demonstrate your ability to make a difference.
- Leverage Opportunities: Participate in competitions, internships, and other extracurricular activities. These experiences provide valuable exposure, build your resume, and can lead to recognition that sets you apart in college applications.
- Focus on Societal Impact: Aim to create positive change through your work. Whether in healthcare, technology, or any other field, making a societal impact adds purpose to your efforts and resonates strongly with college admissions committees.
